She returned home with one gastronomic mission: to drive the respect of local ingredients and encourage South Africans to be more aware of what they were eating.
From giving cooking lessons in her garage, she began experimenting with seasonings and sauces – mixing them in giant metal tubs and selling at markets. Today, she has an enormously popular range of spices, marinades, cake mixes and sauces.
